Forest
In the current forest Info (4 / 2010) the State Forestry Rheinland-Pfalz, already two articles about geocaching. It could have been more appropriate not really expose ...
In the article by D. Black (FA Saarburg) the opportunities that Geocaching has illuminated. A new approach to nature that we all wish so, the early introduction especially of children, away from the PC and computer games, etc. There are some basics explains how geocaching works and runs, and there is the call that the forester in touch should seek to geocachers in the region. I see a unique opportunity that must perceive it ... and gave the region it already positive signs of this in the context of events, seminars and nature-friendly transformation of caches that would otherwise have led to problems. Mind you these were not archived but it was the common goal of providing an experience which is also related to the needs of nature in harmony.
R. Ball (FA Koblenz) writes of his on the "Field of Fame at Alken experiences. Forest workers and hunters are more and more aware of the many geocachers graze in the rapidly increasing number of the forests. So far so good, but on closer examination reveals quickly that 12 of the 80 FOF caches are located on the Directed hunting area and the numerous visits to the problem. One of them, after all, a tree-T5er was on a Saturday alone visited seven times, mostly of little nature enthusiasts who are cited in the Rhein-Zeitung as "technologically adept and movement lazy" and would like to contact the cache go far away from parking lots and public streets .
Certainly, these are two views of flat-rate now a very heterogeneous phenomenon. But as already mentioned, I do not know a more fitting representation of our hobby similar to a few pages, as the two article, the different perception of geocaching and geocachers to the point. On the one hand, the opportunities but the price ... With the growth increasing problems arise that would not occur on rare visits Sun In principle, nothing wrong to walk through the woods. But as soon as repeatedly happens in mass, and / or sensitive locations, at least then we will definitely be a problem. Cache Owner have an increasingly heavy responsibility and must in the design of the cache in addition to selection of location, container , and so superior to also indicate which visit frequency could arise over the years and, if necessary to make contact with local media. A well-functioning community helps to identify problems and to bring in the good cooperation. Some may think that you so well can never place a cache. I know in about a dozen cases in the region, have been discussed with various local media, but there was not such a case!
I help also in 2011 continue to demand you to create one of the caches and, if the contact with local promoters, such as the country's forests. We may also create new iteration of the Trassemer events in the new year ...

Happy Holidays!
done with the annual best wishes to you and a picture of our pool, which expresses our longing for the current routes and destinations in the distance (from a trip about which I also always wanted to blog but what is not have), I ring a little holiday blog break. Summit objectives are challenging This time not really on the list because it is simply a great family vacation, and instead of the challenges ahead for a change, a great nature experience on the program. could
Now that we are away for longer over the holidays, this is also the last article for the time being. If I can still do what I ask but one for an automatic release, some reports are already prepared and waiting longer for publication.

well prepared we are in any case, for the past week there was so much snow that I start walking from my front door and have to pay anything ever ski tour feel. Powder Town! Ok, for more than a dozen thin, light turns hath not passed, but it had to not go somewhere. The day after, it was still with the kids to sled, and we even have his first big Tests done on the snowboard. Mind you all around the corner ... Genial!

Favorite Caches powered by Groundspeak
Actually, I leave the update blogging so like other , but this time holding a new feature Feeder, which I really promise me some medium term, and therefore this post other would prefer you. It has already signed off , like this, it is not entirely surprising: Groundspeak has established a rating system!
Well, ok, not quite ... it is a system for easy scoring, called "Favorite". explained in one sentence can assign a premium member for every 10 finds a point to a particularly commendable cache. And that was about it again. In principle ...
advantages
1) Finally, you can search specifically for rewarding caches.
2) It is integrated directly into the Page, simply and quickly.
3) You can ride other not purely due to poor grades.
Disadvantages:
1) The tastes are different.
2) The Fund frequency pure-play massively.
3) Why no non-PMs? I can think of almost ... :-(
the hardcore statisticians who already tinker again to rankings based on the Favorites would have even called out shortly: If you can not have it already, then build at least two relative rankings with one: one in relation to the other caches in the region (otherwise caches in structurally weak regions are automatically back), and then in relation to the overall findings. Haha, alright, both very heavy, especially as it also still had to count by using the PM Found. Well, then, have fun while creating a truly meaningful rankings ...
wishes, I would me a consistent support of the new features but also in PQs, the rapid procurement of cache listings, an information if a weighted cache is archived, etc, etc. ..
PS 24 has risen to 39 Favorites, one of mine just got it. Still counting ... So, and now I'm even think to me through the whole dig finds and to award more of my almost 300 spots, preferably on good local doses. And I would of course be very happy if even my cache a few points would abkriegen of you ... to find

Saddle Rack Free Plans
doses free and fun ideas for
geocaching without a box ... makes any sense and fun? And how is that even possible? First and foremost, it is to differentiate ... because there are different types of caches, in which no box and no log is available. And arranges for a date I only noticed "curiosity" (at the very end) tell me the whole time to shed light ...
There were and are the following types of virtual caches (ie caches, which was not placed on site):
A Earth cache is a cache type that was created in collaboration with the Geological Society of the United States . Only for about a year, we also tested this by local reviewers. It is subject to special conditions for it to be taught in addition to attending the geologically interesting location and geological knowledge (the pool of neighbors is one such place ;-)). There is no box on the ground here on purpose, because one usually wants to avoid particularly in such sensitive places unnecessary GeoMüll. Since I Earth caches despite the lack of box for a very interesting way to cache think I care for have long bookmark lists of regional Earth caches.
"Real" Virtual caches are basically similar, but without the geological background, and should therefore be spread many times further. To put it but to say the same: You can create new "virtual" no longer registered as geocaches, for these are available for a few years on the Waymarking Platform (see below). Still on Geocaching.com existing virtuals but not archived and are thus in principle be located. Usually, the Virtuals a Log conditions. Sometimes the Log conditions also similar with Google determined. This does not release from the site visit, as well as virtual caches have to be visited, the Log conditions only serves as additional proof. Logs without a visit are logged almost like Mystery solved that one has not visited yet online. Virtuals Most are found in the U.S., and often are found clustered in Virtuals security-related areas such as around the Washington Mall, but oddly enough, also in Budapest.
Couch Potato caches it should not really be. This is pure puzzle caches that are available as virtual caches, but do not even have to be visited for a Onlinelog. The Owner accepts in principle Logs, once the home releasable Log conditions is met (usually an answer to a mystery). The general said Virtuals for applies here, and these caches are not really geocaches as such and therefore not allowed . They also led to confusion, which ultimately for the archiving of many "real" virtuals resulted mainly in North America (and lead), there are some Virtual hunters mistakenly expecting that this is not generally must visit.
Waymarking : This not-so-new "sister service" is nothing more than a new site for various types of virtual caches. Currently, almost 300,000 Waymarks exist worldwide. There feedback, the virtual re-integrate to Geocaching (and of course the counterpart do so). I would probably go to this then once again as part of normal cache tours (currently I do not seek it, the effort is to maintain a profile on several pages I simply too big). The way Waymarks be maintained in categories like that is good, so there are now categories for WiFi hotspots, Penny Smashers, or the writing "Kilroy was here". It would be important for me in the event of a reintegration that one can customize the search function itself, so that everyone can decide if / how these new categories will be shown at all.
With Webcams there is no box, but it makes a fixed camera that is available via the Web, utilized to document the presence. In the Owner designated exceptional cases (eg Webcam temporarily unavailable), sometimes is its own image, but this is not common practice. These caches are "grandfathered", ie existing persist until they are archived, new ones are only possible on Waymarking. Webcam Services Webcam as the frog of rubber soul make it even without text, etc. to create an image by making sure beforehand that the webcam is registered and then subsequently downloading the buffered image within the retention period.
The benchmarks are not even explained on the Groundspeak-type side, but packed the same in their own bottom benchmarks, virtual caches in a broad sense. One looks in on the marking points of the U.S. land survey. They can therefore be found only in the U.S. and do not count in the statistics the way points. Hunting background of the benchmark should be, to document the presence of the benchmarks. This can occur in very different forms and varying the difficulty to find these caches as well, but is a corresponding rating is not for benchmarks. Usually you do not even need a GPS to find them, even though they are usually very precisely measured and therefore may be relevant for comparing with the GPS indicator of interest.
(reverse) caches Locationless need, I'm just up here no great explanation of everything, because you can not even log them anymore. Basically, it was even about to perform a specific task and log the resulting coordinates, for example "Find a phone box "- and if you have found a was allowed to log the corresponding cache also these caches have migrated to Waymarking But now in my profile the cache Four Windows , which was once a virtual, as a reverse Locationless appeared.. . I had at that time the Locationless caches when they were logbar still shunned and never even a logged, because I am so not make friends somehow could. There is probably some more original Virtual , probably the last part some time ago in Locationless Reverse caches were. And it also seems to give Virtuals which are actually reverse ... but only marginally for those who speculate, perhaps for the icon in the profile to do that this will eventually be changed sometimes ;-) Maybe the whole issue for some, a very old hat because these virtuals in the Archive action many years ago, even a thorn in the side were? I noticed it in any case until today ..

Lost Place-cache Cache Owner
The Hawks have released some time ago the now very popular rules of conduct " Lost Place Dos & Don'ts . Many others have provided good additions and thoughts communicated, such as the Dosenfischer , JR849 , derdeifel and numerous others. And in the GeoClub find some more ...
not the only visitors from lost places, but especially the owner of LP caches have some responsibility. Therefore, I would like collected following fairly extensive thoughts and suggestions provide based on my previously made both positive and negative experiences. Much of it is certainly not just for lost places ... ;-)
The location just
are, of course it is just even with your lost place at a very special ... A well-executed cache is therefore not only to the specific characteristics of the location in issues such as routing and design (Lost Place is not immediately lost place ...), but also provides interesting background information such as the history and function of place and found there things.
Local conditions explore
Although it is difficult: in the strong, silent type, because a good planning is the essence of the many years of successful cache. This also includes the location several times to explore different times and to gain an idea of what you can do / should / must not and can not do. Only one will as already in various known cases on the basis of tracks to find out whether the town as a winter home for the homeless, whether the weekend like youth parties are celebrated, and much more.
Surrounding caches
considered especially in LP cache location is fixed, something that is not in any Geocacheidee Sun To avoid problems in advance with distance rule to avoid overlap and so we have made in the immediate vicinity of the location of all caches. Is it not possible to make all the caches you also gain an impression of the listings, and in doubt, Ownern or investigators to ask if this could be a potential for conflict. If to a nearby cache still do not have anything with the place is still a possibility on the LP, just place a QTA waypoint, or possibly just to discuss with the Owner other possibilities. respect
guidelines
LPs are often marginal and may in some cases slightly different opinions are what make it is still possible and what is not. The more important is the sensitive use of the guidelines and what is still acceptable in the context, and dialogue with other cachers, reviewers, etc. If you want to make a building accessible by violence should be aware that he not only commits a crime but this is nothing more has to do with geocaching. Also a "secret" back door as in a clearly marked and limited private land, which is perhaps even guarded by a security firm, leads inevitably to problems. not handle
Review
One should not even think certain problematic things come to write the release. If you should not write anything because it can not get through the review would have to be equal to the cache entirely, or at least leave out the parts. It is not for everyone so some fault, and it can be very frustrating for this search are then confronted with unexpected site problems be. Usually there is an alternative, even if it is to put the cache before the fence.
flexible routing
Access usually is one of the most sensitive areas and should be described with waypoints and explaining exactly understandable and clear as regards visibility, etc. This includes (explored) Notes to times when you better should not come. Variants are also helpful, if feasible, to give investigators more opportunities and thus to better distribute, or certain sensitive sites offer an option, but the cache directory to make it not dependent.
experience bring
Even experienced cachers not everything can be taken into account. You can contribute by just more experience with policies and the knowledge of things that went wrong with planning ahead often additional aspects. Basically you should have typical caches in the league plan (eg the type and difficulty) experienced it yourself, and / or more experienced cachers contact with a request for help or advice
projects
announce Even in our Regional Forum Fred gives it a matter of reservations. A short, spoiler-free post for a rough location ensures that others who might be planning something carefully and you can vote in advance. Sometimes you find so also found that even someone builds something ...
testing
Do not only the functionality to check that a test is important, but also to additional reviews of captivity to get potential risks and so on. A third approach is becoming more neutral than an owner who wants to present a great location at almost any price. One should of course be willing to listen to the testers and to improve the time necessary . Scheduling
type and difficulty of the situation, let alone adapt
corresponding cache design influenced by many things. A simple tradition will be visited frequently, and is easily virtually in its position from any prospective cost. A difficult mystery or multi, will possibly lead to a difficult start to a much lower frequency of visits.
take pictures
Numerous pictures are not only a beautiful memory, but may help in the assessment of hazardous situations in advance for approval by the reviewer, finding waypoints in the form of spoiler images, to bring clarity of the captivity, for identifying hazards, etc. You should also think about a tripod and turn off the flash if necessary. Do not tempt
It is always frustrating for unsuspecting seekers led to problematic actions become. If a can is going somewhere seekers believe that they can also be reached. Ua action should be avoided, which could cause unexpected attention as a viewfinder, such as the forced use of torches in a building easily seen, especially at night , or the aforementioned violation of guidelines.
regular equipment
Who caused cache with full climbing gear, the cache anyway carried backpack, half a dozen different lights, tool box, IR and UV-light scanner must be on the road will inevitably be noticed more than that which may occur normally. Also involve climbing sites in the viewfinder may be situations in which they can not quickly respond to strangers. On the other hand, this usually reduces again the frequency of visits.
avoid hazards
Typical avoidable hazards in the LP caches are protected by the routing cache "forced" entering dilapidated parts of buildings, locations of hazardous superimposed (ammunition, ...), the handling of electrical equipment on which (even temporarily) may be more current, (deep) holes in the (usually flat) ground, the result can be seen seeping water is not necessarily, leaking chemicals, etc. . Where special hazards are known, it does not hurt them in the listing and / or waypoint to mention also clear, particularly when they are not obvious. At best it would be natural if possible to avoid such places him entirely.
Conservation respect
In many LPs nesting birds or bats hibernate. Sometimes there are rare plants, and who is "luck" has found on the Loft a hornets nest, but can also help yourself ... Caches, which are subject to the protection of bats to temporarily disable any protection period and the container is removed.
Drum worry
LP A cache usually requires more maintenance and attention than a normal cache. To change on the ground must often be made very quickly and sensitively. In advance we must ask ourselves whether we can apply this time permanently and wants, and how the cache itself made of maintenance. Also important is to estimate in advance how the location will be expected to develop. Could break off a waypoint or grow? Could a dilapidated building to be renovated soon?
assess rooting
Particularly interesting is the question, for example, if a waypoint no longer exists. Especially with LPs, this is easily conceivable, depending on the design. A clear description of the destructive and dangerous search operations to prevent the offering of a phone Jokers, and possibly attaching backup stations, etc., can be possible solutions.
pack check
A rather new trend is to provide a forum Fred a vote of the viewfinder. Anyone planning a visit with coarse time and group size one. This works only if each enters his planned visit, which is probably not for everyone. The argument, this too can be better run in secret I can not understand completely, because the cache is then logged, too publicly.
Premium Members prefer
A highly controversial point. I was also rather just "struggled through" one of my caches, because I wanted to keep the frequency of visits in the frame. It has delivered promising results, but it must not always be so. Furthermore, one can thus reduce the visibility of the listing. If one chooses can make a link on the log page of the cache to the non-PMs still a log (the link you can for example provide in the profile).
advice
Other caches are usually friendly, willing and able to contribute information in the design phase, further ideas and opinions. Most are happy to help and information as they would like to taste nice caches to be held on site in any way disappointed always respond and then only with a corresponding log to. The fear that even possibly the location of the targeted Cacher could Bedos is usually inappropriate, and if he / she so actually had in mind one can now vote and plan something. objectify
Description
A beautifully crafted listing can contribute a lot to the atmosphere. However, it should include all important points that have been discussed in detail. It is advisable to include a D / T rating not only make but also to explain why this is so, and describe characteristics of the cache as captivity, conservation, and so clearly. Subjective phrases like "difficult access" should be avoided, are clearly factual descriptions such as "access to about 30cm narrow crevice that drops behind 2m deep with few steps and kicks.
disclaimer install
Whether the entire evidence, Disclaimer and is not responsible clauses Owner pack in their listings produce real or not is resolved unfounded. In the worst case is always the first one Court to decide depending on each specific situation. It would not hurt but probably include such references.
Less is more
write instead of each item in detail and in general what is already available in almost any other cache, while the most important thing for this LPC dilute recommended short and concisely the main recommendations for seekers turn out clear, otherwise it reads so again no. I would also have to note times for this list ...
Can / should / must / should there ever a can go?
Here it is to be weighed very carefully ...
- If a cache with the laws and regulations compatible?
- Is the location already publicly known, for example via forums?
- If a commission of the circumstances, surely?
If all this is where there is nothing in principle against a cache, on the contrary, I personally would prefer if someone who has persevered this far then placed a cache, because sooner or later it will probably happen anyway, it's just a matter of time.
But if an inspection by law or geocaching guidelines not be compatible, or the location is not known and / or too sensitive, or a commission with the highest D / T ratings and warnings to be dangerous (eg because a building acute danger of collapse ), then you should definitely have the courage to see a listing and perhaps in the Regional Forum on "sensitive locations" Fred also make known.
thoughts
behave Unfortunately, some irresponsible visitors from LPs in a manner that results in LP-inspections are more problematic. All too often we find the spot traces of destructive actions, and what everything has already been taken suggests only. Whether or not these are geocachers can not be judged mostly because LPs have consistently for many other visitors (and, dare I even say to the geocachers and Urban Explorer are two, nor the most pleasant). Due to the growth rates is also present me with the pessimism that it might not be long this continues with the GC-LPC, and I'm frankly even glad that I have already one or the other LPC have archived even before what. Not because these problems were, but because today would be in the expected number of visitors these locations may have shifted too much in the spotlight.
Anyway, I wish us all a lot of fun with LPCs ...

Anyway, I wish us all a lot of fun with LPCs ...

quality in the region
The GC-Vote Ranking of Marcel123 we know already. Somehow I clicked but now only on the counties ... and found that Trier with an average rating of 2.8 (or 2.84 in August) just middle class. Bitburg (2.84) and Saarburg (2.85) are slightly higher. Striking is the Rhein-Hunsrück-Kreis 3.08 and 3.19 with two bridges to the highest-rated parties be named in the environment. Two bridges nationwide is thus in 12th place
The highest-rated regional caches to them again to mention here, include The Gutsknecht , Gidics army , Hydrothermal Research Station Noswendel and Night & Day III (all about each . 4.9). The nearest 5.0 cache seems to me the Elwetritsche night in the Palatinate Forest near Kaiserslautern. All this subject because I have only flown over the rankings quickly. Where
we're on the subject, even when one may Geocaching Wetterau rating filter a bit , land there then, interestingly, again The last refuge or Ghost earlier than in the ranking of Marcel123.
Whether one can compare the districts really remains to be seen, but the careful selection of individual "quality caches" on the basis of high ratings in a significant number of votes seems to be a useful way to get back even a couple of outstanding cache on trip planning to share.

Expedition Sarek 2010 (3 / 3)
By Gadokvàgge (1 day) 11 km, the observatory (1 day) 21 km
The rain had turned to snow and the wind chill outside temperature was well below the freezing point, which slowed down the creep out of the lot. When we were finally ready to leave the sky broke more and more. Wind and sun dried the wet things attached to the backpack in record time. The terrain was much flatter and the willows was always lower.
lunch we looked for a huge rock in the protection of which we lodged a well-deserved break. The panorama that was there opened before us breathtaking, the gate to Sarek . In a vast delta of the Rappaädno opens in Laitàvrre lake. On a line flanked and interrupted by Skierfe the Tjahkkelij and Soubbattjåhkkå, stone guard, which form the border of the national parks to have a herd of reindeer in the foreground and the image was perfect! In the afternoon, the area improved more and the destination, the bridge over the Gadokjåhkkå was quickly reached. This time we found a wind-protected camp and throughout the evening were guarded by very curious and trusting reindeer! Nothing would have made us wake up that night.
five miles further we reached the next morning the foot of the part massif. The beautiful weather encouraged and the classic route over the degree to Observatory to see. The nearly 1,000 meters were handled with a light pack and a full belly in record time. The following migration of the degree was ... rocky. In fact, the entire mountain is only made of loose gravel and the miles! Between ice fields and bizarre rock structures, we crossed these colorful stone desert until we reach the last climb to reach Axel Hamberg Observatory, which sits above the glacier Bårddejiegna came on. Slowly we could see no more stones. The bizarre installations built in 1911 Station invite you to a guessing game about its function. After a quick search and extensive photos, we were also the first visitor of the year, our second Cache. The descent and back eats away at the debris fields of our very nervous and demanded a high level of concentration to avoid falls. Finally, we had our luggage back in the twilight on the back and stairs to the first planar junction. Both dreamed that night of stones!
Conclusion
In conclusion to the tour, it has a few things to notice. Clearly, save weight always remains the main theme. We definitely had to eat too much here, for the next trip we can go down to 800g/Tag-Person. The absolute no-go was the outdoor cushion with a hole. The common material was already optimized by the previous tours and supplemented with a little luxury was, including the Hautdesensibilisator against mosquito bites. The first-aid bag was indeed difficult but not rationalized, like many things that we have not used but would have been essential in an emergency. Come to the nearly 3 kg photographic equipment, 1 kg of coffee and anti-hum spray, without which it can not start a tour. When planning the time factor was also uncertain. In the end we were too fast, and we should build these days. Our plan was how to cut the tour does not just extend it. Safari and mountain tours are a great addition, with appropriate equipment and a glacier tour ...! Whether the flight to Kiruna was worth is another question. The "Hell Express" train service from Stockholm, we would have been ultimately faster. In particular, the planning phase has previously left little room for unpleasant surprises and you have to over alternative routes and contingency plans are in the clear. If you break his leg three days you have to survive on their own until the other comes back with the Rettungsheli ... are as long as pain killers, etc. .. designed! You have to be very pragmatic in planning and know what you open challenge (although it usually runs so good) then you can enjoy resting in the holidays! Overall the tour was a success but (except for the STF:-P) will hopefully be repeated. So who's tasted blood and wants to explore even the north the I can only recommend this little manual in German language for the Sarek. Finally here a small amount of the tour statistics.

Up to Kvikkjokk it was just under 22km and it was clear from the beginning pure that we few miles from our final destination, beer, showers and reindeer-citizens with fries would not be resting again. With almost 22kg luggage, we were now traveling faster and the training of the last days, supported by optimizing nutrition, let us come very quickly in good off-road up to the (abandoned) seeds Parek village. From there we made our way through the maze of small dirt tracks until we were on the right track. A short path brings one of the last mile to the King's Trail. There was even wooden planks over the mud it here ... and small bridges.
After a while we were the first people to meet for days, not necessarily Sarekdurchquerer but well-equipped outdoor enthusiasts who wanted a taste of something on the edge of the National Park Adventure Far from the Royal Route. Sometimes, every attempt failed to photograph but a lemming On this day we met a very co-operative specimen which gave us pretty pictures. The reindeer, however, were all strange in this area. The first was more of a disheveled sheep and the two next was so much fun to run through the swamp at full throttle. The last (we were just on food) bounced comfortably around a curve and spied us, stayed 2 seconds to have petrified, made a 180 degree turn when it stumbled and would almost disappeared as the devil himself would be after him. Incredulous, we looked at each other. The spin but the reindeer! Finally we passed the park boundary is marked by an information board. There could read: "... and Sarek large moose ... "Yes, and a very special experience of nature, especially in the rain ... oh we could do it all! At last we met on the highway, uh Kungsleden. may, if time was not even in Sarek is back on the roads. Perhaps in a very remote, but the main routes not want to leave. This is the price! Many hikers are also here to enjoy the beauty of nature, but there are many who get involved, inspired by the general trend outdoor, on a hard between human testing. In particular, the various couples in which a very happy person in front opens the way, followed by his complete amazement and annoyed girlfriend. Particularly exciting is noted on the day where, the flannel shirts that the next brood will not be able to hold! Sure everyone has time to collect small beginnings and his experiences, but rather out of conviction and not because you ride on the wave skis ... In the early evening we arrived in Kvikkjokk. Something had changed here at the mountain station. The Sami family which used the whole head had been replaced by a trendy team and in the entrance area could be in the comfortable armchairs in the lounge staring at the screen trade. So it was no more reason in this flair-free environment to talk to his fellow man ... Too bad! We used the following day at our wait cache and a backup box to install. Then, in the evening, almost by chance came-Miche (Tasaios neighbor) with muggle girlfriend in through the door, hocherstaunt that we were already there. He had picked out as the first tour of the King's Trail, and only after all the independent planning, we had noticed that our paths ran together! Together, we drank a few beers, took another walk, and after 2 days we were glad to finally go towards Kiruna (with a stop in Jokkmokk and Gällivare). Once there we had to manslaughter and were 1.5 days in the enjoyment of drunken miners, but that's another story ... One day we were sitting in the plane to Frankfurt and were happy to arrive at. Just log the caches in recent weeks, the sort 1500 photos and tackle the next tour ... There

Climbing caching on Lake Garda
A belated report on a dreamlike summer vacation. It is difficult to summarize everything in one post, but I will try, as I put out a few highlights ... and that, although the Jeeper was faster with an informative and beautiful article (clear, so has a car), and actually (Almost) everything interesting has already been written ...
@ Desert Jeep and mouse: the beer is frozen out, but only on authentic evidence, so that all have what it (MP3, YouTube, ...) :-)
with particular preference, we look forward every year for a family holiday in a region that offers as much as possible for all interests. In addition to the bathing so something must be offered to the family, but also what Mom and Dad, as had as good food or mountains :-)
We not long be hit than anyone brought the lake into play. That then at the time Arco also took place in the interim-climbing championship course was pure coincidence. Also that there in the "European climbing paradise Number 1" outdoor climbing shop after the other sticks, with usually lower prices than here (though you should already know what you are buying, because not everything is cheaper there!).
Around the lake there are many great locations for a more picturesque than the others we have discovered by car and boat. Spontaneous fall here like us Limone, Malcesine, Sirmione, Garda, Lazise and Pesciera, and of course, is everywhere at least one Lockdose. Especially, it has done to us, however, the northern part with its mountains, where are we finally landed. The time for mountain biking and hiking on Mount Baldo was indeed too short, but we are equally been several successful climbing, which I will report here mainly.
started the latest excitement by calling moli99, which I asked the same even though they did not press on the nose that we go to Italy. "Oh, are, as well as just the Obis" it sounded back. So, I immediately called selbige: On the "Guess where I just relax "followed my unexpected response:" At the lake, and I guarantee that it is so by tomorrow ":-) Just arrived down we were planning the same trip to get settled first cache, for so frightened Obi was not even more capable of spontaneous resistance. An entry-level climbing was needed, and the Colodri us was just right, because this was around the corner and still suitable for children is good. As to the riser itself no can was found and we were planning a climbing series (also other platforms in the region offered themselves), we left immediately such .
a short detour to the "City" gave a new, sometimes very cheap there acquirable equipment. It's incredible how quickly you spend money and even claims to have saved. But we must be informed in advance, because not everything is cheaper, and the advice is not always as good as it should be. There's nothing more embarrassing than an unused roller without traces of smoke, of course, we went directly to the next T5er that but unfortunately was not so bright and generally pretty stupid, given the opportunities that would have otherwise warranted nor there. And left for traces of smoke on the aft hats therefore still not enough.
Our frustration coping saw that differing approaches. So I submitted another day on it relevant to patients from the hotel, the idea to make Amicizia . The goal was the "only" a no brainer 1.276m high Cima satellite may think, but we must not forget that it starts almost at zero, and we just over 35 degrees in the shade (morgens!) were going on. The first half was up to the cache in between iron-free ascent of simple ways that abforderten however, already significantly more than half of drinking water supplies. The second half (at last, the entry!) Was then gradually daring and called out a certain level of fitness back. Technically, however, was climbing all very modest, since mostly abandoned and sometimes rather long ladders must be overcome. So rather than climbing test of courage. Ultimately, said quite nice, but honestly not what I imagined, a "classic". Compensated for this but the beautiful spots on the road (Castle, Church, ...) as well as the many great views including from the Cima SAT summit. The most boring descent then presented for certain that we missed the already drunk water all the more.
a few days and tours later, I met with ElliPirelli who posted on her blog already has a beautiful report on our random trip. We all had great fun and I was climbing a further request, the short but scenic Gorges climbing onto Castel Drena, experience. Thanks again to Elliot & Kids for this great day!
now had licked my family climbing, and of course I already had the same pre-planned as a relatively simple walkway, or the combination of simple sections of different platforms on the Cima Rocca and a crossing. Since I expect our little ones did not particularly for his own safety always wear concern, and also a few simple but yet difficult sections without rope always go to manage safely, we decided to have a family rope team. Thus, it was certainly no longer a problem, the exposed portions to happen with all the dwarves. The entire trail was very easy to handle and good, and the road built in the form of gimmicks a chapel and several old war bunkers, and the short ladders were provided for permanent change. An ideal family climbing! Once at the summit was the enthusiasm with the kids, of course, great and keeps even to this day still! On the descent we saw a green lizard and experienced a completely surprise turned up little 5-year-old who was a proud Mountaineer-energy bundle.
The highlight for our little series, I first had the "Che Guevara" gate or, alternatively, the famous "Pisetta" had envisaged, but lack the second "crazy" that unfortunately do back. Instead, it was then the Mori-climbing Monte Albano (after all, the oldest sport climbing in the Alps), also with rated "difficult" is about some notorious passages such as the exposed "Angel Band" (traversate angeli) features, but is due to the spicy soon in half a day instead of a full loose feasible. Only then I could again excite one to come along. But this is even feasible, but just always such a thing. The then pulled back at the entrance but unfortunately after a few meters, I am sorry but of course respect: As mentioned elsewhere testifies, such a decision of courage and common sense! Maybe I should go to appeal to the directions but not the song "Forever" by Unheilig ... ("You need me for your last step? ... I jump with you ...) :-)
But so entirely without highlight I was able to deduct course not, and I am the gate for better or worse but then went alone while my colleague ever tested the beer in town. I felt ultimately, even a little lighter than expected. Ok, since I had no witnesses can be something of course loose touch down. A few trains were strong, it means, and should be the recognition that if you take no more is quite relaxed and patient, given the more demanding passages, instead of being put into the set and calling for mom. Age managers, one or the other place you really do not want to see in daylight ... :-) On the whole, the gate will certainly not least, despite the many traces of his evaluation soon meet. And yes, at last: it must actually be climbed not only increased, it's already what! This shows also, how different can be climbing. I cherish every now and then climbing to the right or the steel cable to still use the many artificial climbing aids (kicks, iron pins, ...) to get ahead, so to speak " Rotpunkt " durchzuklettern (I know, the term does not fit, this is not meant by technical climbing, artificial climbing aids that are not used and the equipment is used only for backup). I succeeded but here again on big parts, and even in many a crossing, but unfortunately not far from anywhere - not just because it is so worn was, but especially because I did not come wrapped. If one hangs several feet above the last backup and do not know whether the passage still holds one wants to be but do not fall into Steigset and stands just on the pen ... I recommend those who have the sometimes absurdly quasi want "red dot" test bit behind in any case reasonable climbing shoes and a lot of patience, and no people, because something costs according to time of course ...
ends would I with a hymn of praise to my older son, who has managed to get through to his first route in leading and told me since then how to establish and Expressen node hangs correctly. In the rocks below Arco and above light of this DriveIn be found for such a family would in any event an ideal climbing area: Mostly shaded reach, easy, with parking and taps has near it a large number of mild to moderate routes, which usually top rope are also suitable.
It is the memory of a beautiful Geo-climbing holiday, hopefully as the series itself climbing at some point a find beautiful sequel, when we again follow Che Guevara's reputation ...
