At the next main road, we talk to a taxi driver. We'll act on 500sum (about $ 10) down for the ride to the airport. The price is slightly above the normal rate, but honestly, we for once do not care. We finally want to go home. Luggage in the trunk of the old Passat and thrown into the deep fall foul poster left. How nice it actually is to be driven in a taxi ... It will be stopped at a gas station and of course must be fueled only once. Of course, for our money is needed - in advance ... of course. We only have three 200 bills. Tank is full, back comes a fifties. Not again. Apparently thinks half of the people of Bukhara and Bishkek can draw us simply "line and thread on the table, just because we are tourists. We do get a bit more than the normal price paid and now we are also sold for $ 1 for stupid. ND did not find this funny. Starts to discuss. The taxi driver gets on. Just drive on. ND explodes and throws the 50sum bill forward. Whether he gets to the driver while still equal one? About are the ghosts. Fact is, the driver drives on unconcerned, until he discovers a really dark piece of road outside of Bishkek. He moves to the side. No person in sight. Gets out, opens the trunk (probably thinks the bags in the trunk must be really difficult), go around the car and opens the back door at ND and probably thinks we are now getting worried that we do not get to the airport. Only $ 50 oderso. - Mistake while I remain seated just freaks out completely from ND ...
The taxi driver gives us the remaining 50sum, the trunk again, and makes sits in the driver's seat and goes fast in silence to the airport. Once there, he says gratefully for the ride, we shook hands, and is visibly relieved when we disappear.
runs after two hours of sleep in the airport all other surprisingly easy, no problems because of my license plates in a backpack, accidentally checked in at the Business Class, why not get paid for being overweight. Fast nor with our rag-pickers in Almaty between aircraft landed and already we are in London. Another little joke at the security checkpoint. "What is in your back?", "A bomb." "That's not funny at all You could spend some time in prison for this joke." Well, that then has impressed us not to ... = ;-)
Only when we are landing at Berlin-Tegel, I realize that the journey is now really closes. ND and I get a little wistfully, no sunset in the desert, no more skewers in any Turkmen dives, no parties in Ashgabat, not to be traversed rivers, no trouble with the police, no Tajik beauties that invite one to tea, not Iranian Artists, no Kurdish anarchists, no crater lakes, no fleeing from Interpol Canadians, not people who wake up one morning just out of curiosity, not Khans and no spontaneous invitations to chat more. But forget all sorrow, all Wanderlust is when friends are present. And they were there.
